Join us for a peaceful morning on the water as we partner with SailAhead, a nonprofit dedicated to providing veterans with meaningful experiences through sailing and nature. This guided birding excursion aboard Tartan offers a unique opportunity to observe local birdlife while connecting with others in a calm, supportive environment.

Scheduling is open for veterans, and no prior birding or sailing experience is needed.

Birding on the Ida May

The Ida May is a restored 1925 oyster dredge that brings Long Island’s working waterfront history to life. Once used in the local oyster industry, she now serves as a platform for education, sailing, and community connection on Oyster Bay Harbor.

​Join us for a collaborative tour with the Waterfront Center aboard the Ida May, where participants will embark on a guided birding experience through Oyster Bay Harbor, exploring local wildlife while engaging with the region’s maritime heritage.
