Birding Expeditions
See Long Island’s birdlife from a new perspective! In the summer, join us aboard our guided boat trips in Oyster Bay to spot ospreys, herons, and other coastal birds while learning from our naturalists. You’ll even have the chance to take part in citizen science by recording bird sightings that support real research.

In the cooler months, head to Greenport for our popular Duck Tours, where you’ll discover the many species of waterfowl that migrate through and spend the winter on the North Fork.

Step aboard the vintage Tartan for a summer birding adventure in Oyster Bay. From the deck of this classic vessel, you’ll watch ospreys dive, egrets stalk the shoreline, and shorebirds feed, while also contributing to ongoing citizen science projects that protect local birdlife.
Each fall and winter, our Duck Tours highlight the many species of waterfowl that migrate through and take refuge on Long Island’s North Fork. With guidance from our naturalists, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of these seasonal visitors and the wetlands they depend on.
