How do I sign up for birding?

To sign up, simply fill out the Google Form linked at the top of the webpage. After submitting the form, you’ll receive a copy of your responses via the email you provided. Don’t forget to add your expedition to your calendar!

How do I confirm my spot aboard?

After signing up for birding, you'll receive an email before your tour asking you to confirm your spot aboard. We aim to accommodate as many participants as possible, so please respond within 48 hours to secure your spot. If we don't hear from you, your spot may be given to someone on the waitlist.

What birds will I see?

As our tours are on the water, expect to see a diverse array of marine birds. Summertime birding offers osprey, cormorants, gulls, herons and egrets, belted kingfishers, and more!

As the weather gets cooler and winter waterfowl arrives, we observe plenty of scoters, loons, mergansers, long-tailed ducks, and other colder-weather birds.

What is your cancellation policy?

While we do our best to bird in light rain or shine, CIBS reserves the right to cancel or reschedule birding expeditions due to unforeseen circumstances. For sailing expeditions, your tour may be moved to a motor vessel if wind conditions are not favorable for sailing.

If you are unable to attend the expedition you signed up for, please email info@cibirdsanctuary to release your spot for another participant.

What boat will I be on?

The boats we bird aboard are a part of our parent organization the Stirling Harbor Foundation. The boat that your tour will take place on is named on your sign up form. Chicane is a classic sailboat and Tartan and Easy Street are motor vessels.
