The Centre Island Bird Sanctuary, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, is dedicated to educating and engaging individuals through immersive experiences.

Embark on educational birding expeditions aboard historical sailing and motor vessels, participate in citizen science initiatives, and contribute to practical conservation efforts that support avian conservation.

We believe in the power of outdoor experiences to foster a connection with nature. Our educational programs take place entirely outdoors, on the water, to provide an immersive learning experience that shares the joys of birding.

For each birding expedition, all species spotted are logged into our ship's logbook and then uploaded to eBird, the largest citizen science initiative to date. Our expeditions are about embracing curiosity, taking a closer look at the world around us, and actively participating in the process of scientific research.
